## Team
- Andreas Fötschl, M.Sc., Founder and CTO; Computer science (M.Sc.) · Ph.D. student in medical science. Hepius is named after Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine. Our first projects were for pediatric practices and pulmonology in Austria: records, letters and workflows that had to be right. Since 2021 we have brought the same discipline to start-ups and SMEs, from AI agent platforms to cloud systems on AWS. Andreas studied computer science and is a Ph.D. student in medical science, which is why AI and healthcare sit side by side here. Paperless, remote-first, and always with a written plan before the first line of code.

- Where are you based, and do you work remotely? HEPIUS Software is based in Hof bei Salzburg, Austria, and works remote-first with clients across Austria, Germany and Switzerland, in German or English. We meet in person when a project calls for it.

- Do you build fully custom software? Yes. We build solutions that fit your workflows, infrastructure and long-term plans, from AI agents to cloud systems and first product versions. Every project is designed to scale and to stay maintainable.
- Which AI models do you use, and where does our data go? We build AI agents with models from Anthropic and OpenAI, usually through AWS Bedrock inside your own cloud account. Guardrails, monitoring and cost control are part of every setup from the start, and data is handled in line with the GDPR. Which model fits is decided per use case, not by habit.
- Can you help me get my start-up off the ground? Yes. We support founders from the very beginning with strategic advice and hands-on technical work, and as interim CTO if needed. That way your product, technical foundation and market readiness grow together.
- What does an interim CTO do for a start-up or SME? An interim CTO gives you senior technical leadership for a limited time: architecture decisions, hiring and building the development team, vendor and cost control, and a technical voice towards investors. You get the judgement of an experienced CTO without a full-time position, and hand over to your own team when it is ready.
- Can you improve existing systems instead of starting from scratch? Absolutely. Many clients come to us with legacy setups or systems that have grown too complex. We analyse your architecture, find what to improve and lay out a clear path to an efficient, future-proof setup.
- Why are you called Hepius? The name is inspired by Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine: a nod to our roots in healthcare, where we built our first reliable, compliant software for medical teams. We still have a strong network in medicine and help doctors and health innovators get their ideas started. The name stands for clarity, reliability and solutions that genuinely help people.
